Built around 1850, this first home in Agoura Hills represents 150 years of California history that includes the acquisition of documented stories and artifacts from the families who lived in the Reyes Adobe home over the decades. These help visitors understand the political, social, and economic changes that have shaped present-day culture. The California history that is presented here highlights the rancho period, oral history, and Spanish rancho architecture. The Reyes Adobe's hearth has drawn people from different cultures who have influenced the scenic and strategically located property on the state's famous El Camino Real. The restoration and research efforts of the city of Agoura Hills have created an interpretive center and museum for visitors to explore and enjoy for years to come.
