The mansion was built for the famous L.A. pioneering Doheny
family in 1927 and it got its name from the grey Indiana limestone
used on its exterior. The beautiful 18.5-acre park serves as
a location for myriad cultural activities, as a place for quiet
respite, and as a backdrop for weddings and other parties. Two
areas of the Greystone Mansion and Park are open to the public—the
formal gardens, which feature spacious lush green views, and
the pool and inner courtyard. The mansion is only accessible
to the public for musical and theatrical performances. Greystone
Park has been featured in many films and the mansion and grounds
are frequently used for still photography for catalogs and advertisements.
