In the 1800s, Calabasas had the reputation for being wild and
lawless mostly because of the one-day justice meted out by Miguel
Leonis, who fancied himself the "King of Calabasas."
The Leonis Adobe Museum, in Old Town Calabasas, is his familyís
preserved, scaled-down ranch. Included are original buildings
with livestock and artifacts for viewing. Another part of the
museum is an 1875 vintage Victorian and park with roses, topiary
gardens, and a year-round stream.
