While Bear Valley is considered a mid-sized ski resort, it actually ranks as the eighth-largest ski area in California. It also accommodates snow boarders and cross-country skiers. Offering 67 trails serviced by 11 lifts that allow 12,000 skiers per hour, it's popular because you spend more time skiing and less time standing in line. The terrain is diverse enough to offer fine skiing whether you're a beginner, intermediate, or advanced skier and rates are more affordable than those in other state ski areas. The resort is currently being renovated to make it even more family-friendly, such as building a lift that connects the mountain to the Bear Valley Village.
