Big Trees State Park
	Home to two groves of giant sequoia trees, the area was discovered by a hunter in 1852 and been a popular tourist attraction since that time, which makes it possibly the longest continuously operated tourist facility in California. There are self-guiding trails in both groves, and besides the trees, visitors can marvel at the wildlife, including mammals and birds. Big Trees State Park can be enjoyed year-round. In the spring, the park is lush with wildflowers. In the summer, camping, picnicking, guided nature walks, hiking, fishing, swimming, campfire programs, and interpretive children's activities are available. Autumn visitors come for the spectacular fall colors. And, come winter, when snow covers the ground, the trails are open to snowshoers and cross country skiers.
