This 42-acre park is named in honor of Colonel Bill Barber, best known for his heroism in one of the worst defeats in Marine Corps history, the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir in Korea in 1950. The Medal of Honor winner died in 2002, not far from the park. The park's amenities include Deanna Manning Stadium, three additional softball diamonds, three lighted soccer overlay fields, four batting cages, six lighted tennis courts, two child play areas, one open play area, an amphitheater/stage, two concession stands, bicycle trail access, four barbeques, six group picnic areas, and 24 picnic shelters.
