Florence Joyner Olympiad Park
This 22-acre park is dedicated to the Olympic athlete Florence Joyner, a resident of Mission Viejo who died suddenly and young in 1998. The park features a bronze statue of the woman nicknamed "Flo-Jo" winning the 100-meter race at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Especially pleasant are the Olympic Gardens—a great place to relax, reflect, and walk among gardens that have a European ambience. Other amenities include a baseball field, two soccer/football fields, two playgrounds, a picnic structure, and barbecues.
