This 4.75-acre park houses two historic buildings that were moved to the site and restored. One of them is the Nelson House and the other, the International Order of Good Templars Hall, was Poway's first public assembly building. The three existing buildingsÑthe Porter house, the Hamburger Factory (a restaurant), and the Historical and Memorial Society MuseumÑwere refurbished. The city built a train barn that houses a 1907 Baldwin No. 3 steam engine, a 1938 Fairmont Speeder and ore cars, an 1894 LA. Yellow Trolley, and a San Francisco Cable Car. To enhance the turn-of-the-century feeling, an blacksmith shop and gazebo were built. The grounds include a two-acre green park for picnicking. Old Poway Park offers weekend train rides, summer concerts, and a farmer's market every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
