This lush 30-acre park in the center of San Marino was originally known as Wilson Lake. The city purchased it and dedicated it as a park in 1925. It features open green areas as well as a variety of trees and shrubs. Of special note are the picnic area, the walking loops, the tennis courts, and the Rose Arbor. The picnic area often plays host to musical concerts and civic events. The inner walking loop is about 3/4-mile long, while the outer loop runs about a mile in length. Dogs on leash are permitted. Lacy Park's six championship tennis courts and pro shop are administered by the San Marino Tennis Foundation. Lucky residents who live within the San Marino Unified School District are allowed unlimited playing privileges for a nominal annual fee. Nonmembers are allowed to use the facilities for a daily court charge. At the west entrance of the park, the Rose Arbor is beloved by the people of San Marino. For 60 years, they have enjoyed the arbor's beauty and tranquility. In recent years, dedicated residents have augmented the care of the arbor with private donations, and the donors' names can be found on bronze plaques.
