Wellesley
One of the wealthier suburban towns west of Boston is Wellesley. The well-established town, just 15 miles from Boston, is lovely and heavily treed with neighborhoods full of stately, even historic homes. Newton
Another suburban town close to Boston is Newton—just six miles west of Boston—and known as "The Garden City." Bordered on three sides by the Charles River, Newton is a highly desirable place to live because of its proximity to Boston and its attractive neighborhoods—there are 14 villages in all, each with its own unique character. One current listing for $2,225,000 is a charming 14-room Colonial built in 2003. The three-story home of 4,789 square feet has six bedrooms and 5.5 baths.
